Vision and Mission
At Act Design Shop, we aim to offer not only comfortable bean bags but also stylish eye-catchers that fit into any interior. Our mission is to create products that seamlessly combine design and functionality, so that everyone can enjoy ultimate comfort at home without sacrificing style.
Because we loved sitting on bean bags at home, we had one for several years. However, we found the bean bags we had to be terribly ugly. But because they were too comfortable to get rid of, we decided to look for something else. But these weren't bean bags, and then you don't experience how a bean bag really feels.
Later in 2023, we came up with the idea to explore if we could make this better. We created a design and had it made. The first model was a total failure and looked different than expected. Because they are bean bags, we didn't account for the fact that they could sink in. So, the design had to be redone. This was also a failure, and it still didn’t look like we wanted. After several attempts, we finally kept our first design for personal use.
Our background in designing the bean bags didn't come out of nowhere. With a successful business in art statues, we already had some experience in creating original designs and delivering them to hundreds of customers through an external sales platform.
At some point, we had to part with our first bean bags to make space for new designs because they no longer fit our current interior. We sold them through a second-hand platform, and to our surprise, we were overwhelmed with responses. Everyone wanted to know where the bean bags came from and who designed them.
Customer Focus
We believe that our customers play an important role in our success. Their feedback and ideas have helped us refine our designs. We listen to what people really want and adjust our designs accordingly so that each bean bag perfectly meets our customers' wishes.
While designing our bean bags, we spent months testing different sizes, shapes, materials, and colors. Comfort was the most important factor for us, along with design. We considered many different shapes, from sitting upright to lying down, and with or without armrests. We also carefully chose different materials and colors based on how warm or cold they felt. But there was even more to consider, which led to a true obsession with designing the ideal bean bag.
